Your valued opinion wanted please!

Hi,

I’ve been tinkering around with my website recently and I’d like your opinion/feedback on this:

This is the landing page that a visitor views when visiting my website (via http://www.photoblog.ie).

On my old blog the landing page used to be my latest blog post (see below) So I’ve been thinking of implementing that on this website. So instead of the ‘overview’ page the blog page would display instead.
If you could take two minutes to provide me with this input/feeback I’d appreciate it. Just wondering which one you think is better and why?
Thanks for providing me with the feedbak!

Hi Patrick, I think I like the idea of the landing page. It showcases your work through the nice JQuery Gallery header. I’d have to say that I also like the blog layout too, something I’ve used in a lot of sites I’ve made.I guess it really comes down to the reason for your website, if you’re an active blogger then perhaps the blog welcome page is the way to go. Otherwards if you are more photography orientated, I’d stick with the one you have.

I like the landing page too. If you are promoting print sales and so on then it’s good to know that the user experience is consistent. Whereas with a blog they will always see the lastest image – that puts even more pressure on to make sure every post is top drawer stuff!

I like the theme and new landing page. I think it’s a great idea to let your visitors know that you sell prints up front.

The only issue I had is that when I click Photos >> Blog, no posts are listed. I couldn’t find a way of viewing all of your blog posts though (I found this post through my feed reader). It might be handy if you listed all categories on that page, rather than forcing users to click between categories.

Love the site all in all, great job! Keep up the good work.

    Denis
