SAP Walldorf Architecture

SAP Walldorf Architecture

SAP SE is a German multinational software corporation that makes enterprise software to manage business operations and customer relations. SAP SE headquarters are in Walldorf, Germany and is home to over 14,000 employees in multiple buildings.

In this set I wanted to reduce the buildings to simple lines and patterns. The first photo (SAP building 21) provides you with an idea of what some of the buildings look like; the rest are somewhat abstract but still striking. By converting the photos to black and white removes further distractions and allows you to simply appreciate the simplicity of the lines and patterns. Run Simple is the new slogan of SAP and these photos do ‘run simple’.

Abstract Chairs

In b. Abstract/Arty by admin / April 3, 2014 / 0 Comments

Most of the time scenes, objects to photograph are obvious and everyone can spot them; the beautiful landscape, a stunning building etc. I don’t have any one particular style of photography, I tend to photograph anything and everything that cathes my eye. I do seem to enjoy finding something less obvious and capturing it.

I think this abstract photo of a stack of chairs is a good example. They were stacked under a doorway somewhere in the Albert Docks in Liverpool. I like the patterns created and how a simple stack of chairs can become something abstract and worth photographing (to me anyway.)

Mis-shapes

I like to notice patterns and potential photographs in everyday situations, maybe it’s the photographer in my hunting for something to photograph. I was in Calpe, Spain on holidays earlier this summer and ‘played’ crazy golf with our kids. What struck me was the strong colours and unique shapes around each hole.

Black, Keys

In b. Abstract/Arty by admin / June 25, 2012 / 1 Comment

I’ve mentioned before that I have a fondness for patterns. This was taken at a waterpark in Spain; I guess keys for lockers. The woman working there gave me an odd look, probably wondering why would anyone want to take a photograph of a bunch of keys.

Post title is a play on the title of the American rock band “The Black Keys”.

Maroon 5 ( Galway GAA Pearse Stadium stand )

In a. Galway,b. Abstract/Arty,g.Colourful by admin / March 2, 2012 / 4 Comments

This is the second set of photographs from my wander around Pearse Stadium, Salthill home to Galway GAA hurling and football. In this set I’m posting patterns and strong colours seen in the empty stand which wouldn’t be seen on match day.

…and an ‘abstract’ one thrown in for good measure

My first set of photographs from Pearse Stadium can be found here

Title taken from the American Pop Rock band named ‘Maroon 5’. I know I have more than 5 maroon photographs in the post but couldn’t resist adding this title

Little Empty Boat (Don’t rock the boats)

In b. Abstract/Arty by admin / August 1, 2010 / 0 Comments

Don't rock the boat(s) baby

But my little boat is empty
It don’t go
And my oar is broken
It don’t row, row, row
But my little boat is empty
It don’t go
And my oar is broken
It don’t row, row, row

I was travelling to Israel with work and had a few hours stopover in Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport in France. It’s a very spacious, airy airport with quiet a cool roof.

Andy Warhol meets Primal Scream

Andy Wahrol-Screamadelica collage

Screamadelica meets Andy Warhol

Famous line that make the hairs on many a middle aged person stand on their ends- “Just what is it that you want to do? We wanna be free. We wanna be free to do what we wanna do. And we wanna get loaded. And we wanna have a good time.”

Screamadelica, the iconic album from Scottish rockers Primal Scream is rated by many in the top 10 albums of all time, rated best of all time by Eve Barlow of NME. Screamadelica is the third studio album by Primal Scream, released in 1991 by Creation Records. For me, it’s an uplifting, euphoric journey of love and joy, an album that you can’t but dance to and feel invigorated and have a smile plastered on your face.

The album was produced by Andrew Weatherall and without his influence would have been a much different album.

In this Andy Warhol Screamadelica collage I created what I think would have been a great poster or flyer for a Primal Scream concert.
