An old photo of mine but with a change of Government I thought it’s good time to repost it. Hopefully the cracks in our economy will be fixed. Although I don’t have much faith in Enda Kenny, the man who hid from radio interviews in the last few days before the election. Will the public be wishing Fine Gael out and Finna Fáil back in four years time?
A collage of baby Conor, now 11 months young. He was just after waking up so is still in his sleeping bag and has ‘morning hair’. He sat and looked around for a bit but then crawled over to try to eat my camera (center bottom picture). He’s at the age where EVERYTHING that he gets his little mitts on goes into his mouth.
Post title is the song title ‘Stay Young’ by Suede.

Hi,
Just to let anyone who is interested that there’s an upcoming photowalk in Limerick City on Saturday, March 12th. It’ll be a citywalk through the streets and along the riverbanks of Limerick, passing by many landmarks of interest and will also include the very popular Milk Market. Anyone and everyone is welcome.
Full details and registration can be found on Photowalk.ie.
It’s the first photowalk I’ve organised. I’ve been itching for a good day out with the camera and haven’t been to Limerick yet to take pictures so I’m looking forward to it.
Photowalking; what’s that most people ask? A group of people meet up and walk along a route while taking photographs. Simple idea. I’ve only been on two but think they’re a great idea; an excuse for a day out with the camera, visiting a new location, chatting with and learning from other ‘like minded’ people and seeing photos from other peoples perspective.
See ye all there,
Pa.
So it’s a new year, which means new resolutions. So here are my resolutions, or photographic plans for the year….
1. Finish the upgrade from my photoblog to (this)proper website. It’s virtually completed now, I just need to complete the gallery and a some final fine-tuning.
2. Spend as long as it takes to go through everything in my camera manual and know/learn all the features and functions my camera has (and unleash them).
3. Finally get onto a few cafes/venues and get some photos exhibited.
4. Go along to the Galway Photo Club and see what it’s like.
5. Aquire (buy) a wide prime lens.
6. Frame some more pictures and hang them at home.
That’s it for the moment I think.
Some pictures of birds during the snow. The first two are very similar, I just wanted to show what a bit of editing does. I cropped tighter for the second one so the picture is filled more which I think looks better. I could have come up with a lot of titles, such as ‘I’m still not talking to you’, ‘you talking to me’, ‘bird(s) on a wire’, etc. The last one is just an evil looking crow.

At work one of our current competition categories is ‘Abstract’.
These photos are two I took at home tonight, one a Rothko copy and one trying to convey a human soul.
The sunset through my back door reminds me of the Russian-born American abstract painter Rothko.
Human soul- This one was just messing around but I kind of like it. It’s my breath, taken standing outside my back door in the (very) cold. The photo on it’s own it very forgetful but when you associate it to a human soul escaping a dead body then breathes (no pun intended) a whole new life into the photo.
We normally don’t get much snow in Ireland, in fact we normally get no snow in Ireland. The winter of 2010 was different, we got so much snow that roads and schools were closed.
This was the first snowfall in Ireland of 2010. It began up north on Friday, 26th of November and covered most of the country by Saturday.
People often say one of the downsides to living in Irlenad is the weather- a fair bit of rain and not much sun or summer heat. While that’s true we also don’t have people dying in heatwaves or snowstorms like other countries. And Bill Bryson, the humorous travel author said if Ireland had good weather the place would be too crowded with tourists.
Harrods. Probably one of most famous shop in the world? To me Harrods is anyway. Maybe Macys and Hamleys are up there with it but Harrods has the element of style, Harrods oozes class and the wow factor.
When I was a child I used to visit my cousins in London and always looked forward to a trip to Harrods, watching with awe the magician and playing amongst the many, many toys.
In this Harrods photo I photoshopped out some cars and bits n pieces to try to make it look like Harrods from the past. I added the second photo to show what the original photo compared to the photoshopped version.
The Good old days in the post title ‘Harrods (The Good old days)’ is a song from the album ‘Up the Bracket’ by The Libertines.
